Would a blown capacitor on a video card cause a computer to continually freeze, it started in june and has carried on, i've cleaned it with compressed air, remove the blankets of dust, reseated RAM, Ran Memtest86+ Etc. couldn't find the culprit so i opened up the cased searched for bulged or popped capacitors and found the top of the graphics card capacitor to have split into 4 sections with the contents leaking out (Ewww) I don't know how to tell my mum she'll start shouting Etc. Help would that cause the computer to freeze

Help? Please? :'(
It could if it was causing a power issue or if it was part of the PCI bus interconnect interface. The leaking "stuff" is alkaline acid (i.e. battery acid) - don't touch it with your fingers. If it leaked onto the board, it could have caused an electrical short, or may have "burned" motherboard traces. I suspect however, that the blown capacitors are a result - not a source of the problem. I bet there is something wrong with your motherboard (or well, was prior to the capacitors leaking on it), and or with the power supply.
It appears that a recent Microsoft Windows Update has caused many computers - including mine - to freeze/lock uop, crash, and restart.
