Will have to pay duty, taxes on items I purchased while studying abroad?
I was studied this, but I am confused. I read somewhere that you can bring up to 800 dollars, but then I read somewhere else 400. I I studied abroad for about 5 months and I buy shoes and clothes. I also bought two bottles of perfume. I have receipts for everything. When I I declare that I am bringing a lot back, how would you know that all adds up? Do check my bag or something? And if they think that on what its worth? Im not sure if I should attempt to transport some of the things my home or not. Also, I have my computer (dell) with me and my camera (Sony), which brought with me, will say something to them? Oh and one more thing. I brought with me all my jewelry, jewelry that I have collected over 2 years (nothing serious, like jewelry Walmart), but I did not bring revenue things that have purchased homes in the U.S. I'm kind of freaking out, can someone help me with the process and my particular problem. Thank you.
If you have used items abroad, you do not pay taxes when you return to the U.S..
